52: One for You, One for Me

Sorry for the delay and the brief post...I have had two sick boys and a sick father to deal with this past week. I hope to be back with some more original layouts and cards and a more indepth creative prompt this coming week!

This week I have another great project created by the incredible designers at Creative Memories. Follow the simple instructions and use our great CM products to create a lovely gift for a special person as well as a keepsake for yourself!
It's a great way to celebrate a friend, a sister or other special someone in your life! You can download the instruction sheet here. All items needed to create the project can be purchased on my website.

Enjoy!

52: An Irish Blessing Project

I know St. Patrick's Day isn't until next week, but I wanted to share an idea with you so you can get it made in time for any Irish celebrations you might have planned.

I love that Creative Memories Designers are providing Monthly Projects for us to share with our papercrafting friends. This month they used the new Enchanted Power Palette to create this lovely Irish Blessing Page Frame -

It's so quick and easy to create this lovely home decor project using the step-by-step instruction sheet provided by Creative Memories and the Enchanted Power Palette with it's gorgeous glossy varnish accents and sparkling epoxy gems! (Of course you can substitute any papers and embellishments that coordinate with your home decor!)

It will only take you about 30 minutes to whip this baby up, and once it's done, you can display it in CM's wonderful easy-to-change Page Frame, an Everyday Magentic Display or Sleek Magentic Display, or simply add it to one of your albums.

May the luck of the Irish be with you! Happy Scrapping!

Cheerful Cards

One of the things I love about Creative Memories Power Palettes is how everything coordinates...no matter which pieces you are working with. I was working on a layout using the Cheerful Power Palette -

and I ended up with a bunch of scraps on my table. Rather than sorting them or tidying them up, I whipped up two everyday cards to add to my card box. I didn't think or plan much...I just used the pieces that were there!

For the "thankful" card, I trimmed a scrap of the green polka dot tone-on-tone paper with the new scallop rotary trimmer blade, threaded a piece of the paper ribbon (doesn't it look like real grosgrain ribbon?) through a paper tag and finished it off with one the the clear title stickers, all from the Cheerful Power Palette.

For the "Life was good today" card, I trimmed and layered scrap pieces of designer paper, yellow and white cardstock and topped it off with another clear title sticker. I added 5 paper buttons and doodled some faux stitching with the black dual-tip pen. Both cards were quick and easy and just used basic tools and components from the Power Paletter I was already working with. I love that I can add a couple of extra cards to my stash to send along to someone to brighten their day, with so little time and effort!

Cheerful is one of the Power Palettes I use most often...it coordinates so well with the bright clothes and toys that always seem to show up in the photos I take of my two busy boys. And it's on sale this month along with all the other Power Palettes for only $54.00! Take a look to see which Power Palette fits your photos best, then contact me if you'd like to take advantage of the sale, or shop on my website 24/7.

Happy Scrapping!

52: Pin It

Do you have a bulletin board in your office or craft room? I do and I love to pin up photos, scraps of paper, ideas to copy, techniques to try etc. Now I can do the same virtually with Pinterest! This online version of a pin board is not new...it's been a round for a couple of years, but it's growing in popularity as a way to visually organize and share the things you love online. I've been pinning for a couple of months and it's definitely addictive!

Once you have a Pinterest account you can create different pin boards featuring different categories etc. When you are surfing online and see a picture you want to keep track of, you simply "pin it" to one of your boards using a handy little red "Pin It" button that you can install on your favorites bar. Then, everytime you click on the image on your board, it will take you back to the place you first found the image! You can also re-pin what others have already found and pinned...adding to your visual image base exponentially!

This is great for us scrapbookers and crafters, as we can go back to reference an instructions or details whenever we need to. I used to copy and paste images and links and save them into a word document to reference later, but Pinterest has made this process so much easier!

Now, you can Pin It and Win It! Creative Memories knows all about sharing and preserving images, so they think Pinterest is pretty great as well, and they are having their first ever Pinterst Contest! All you have to do is create a Pinterest account and pin 10 images featuring Creative Memories products - layouts, photos, techniques etc. and you can win! You can check out all the details of the contest here, and then go check out my CM Pin board here! It's so much fun to create and surf throughout Pinterest to see what others are posting on their CM boards!

A quick note...it can take a while to get a Pinterest account, so it's definitely faster to have a friend request and invite for you. Just email me if you want to create your own Pinterest account and I would be happy to request the invite for you so you can get pinning!

In the meantime, have fun surfing Pinterest...I know you will become as addicted as I am! And good luck...the contest runs until March 8th, so don't delay!

Happy Pinning!
